Community Peer Support is a person-to-person service provided by individuals with recovery from substance use and/or mental health. Community peer supporters assist others in becoming self-sufficient on their own personalized journey of recovery. Clients work alongside their peer supporters to achieve goals and overcome barriers with the ultimate goal of finding a sustained personal recovery.
Peer support is a client-centered practice based on the needs identified by the individual. Each client’s experience is unique to ensure that the client is equipped with the tools in the present and future.
